Dr. K. Thiyagarajah Iraivan

Dr. Iraivan brings a uniquely varied background that includes over two decades of experience in public, private and international healthcare sector, in both clinical and administration spheres.

Dr. Iraivan completed his medical education in India at Raja Muthiah Medical College, Annamalai University & Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute under Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G. R Medical University. He holds Postgraduate Qualifications in Hospital Administration and Business Administration and an MBA from the Bucks New University (UK)

He is a life member of Sri Lanka Medical Association and a fellow member of Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka and Chartered Management Institute (CMI-UK). He also is a Member of College of Medical Administrators of Sri Lanka.

Dr. Iraivan is the current Director/Chief Executive Officer of Melsta Health (Pvt) Ltd, and he also serves on the Boards of Hospital Management Melsta (Pvt) Ltd, Melsta Healthcare Colombo (Pvt) Ltd, Melsta Hospitals (Pvt) Ltd, Melsta Labs (Pvt) Ltd and Melsta Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd. His past Directorships include Deputy Director Medical Administration at Lanka Hospitals PLC and Chief Executive Officer at Browns Healthcare and Hospitals.

In addition to his professional roles, Dr. Iraivan contributes to academia as a visiting lecturer for both Undergraduate and Master’s streams of hospital facility management at the University of Moratuwa and for Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Quality and Patients Safety at Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.
