Continental Insurance Lanka Limited(CILL) yesterday announced its partnership with EC-Council Cyber Security Summit 2014 as the Official Insurance Partner.

The summit, which is held for the second consecutive year on August 05 in Colombo, will comprise a Leadership Forum with CEOs of top corporations, Cyber Security Summit for IT professions targeting senior officials from the corporate and government sectors, and a ‘Night Hack’ –an informative evening.

The summit will feature high profiledinternational IT security experts including thosewho have worked with the Interpol and Fortune 500 companies.

Titled ‘EC-Council Cyber Security Summit 2014’, the event is co-organised by CICRA Consultancies Ltd. – Sri Lanka’s pioneeringcyber security training and consultancy provider – and the Daily FT.

“Cyber-attacks on organizations and government bodies have caused severe issues in the recent past,” CILL CEO Gerry Gunadasa said.

“Corporations as responsible entities need to realize how vital online security is for business and be prepared for such incidents, which is why we strongly believe that the Cyber Security Summit this year will help give us a foresight on what to expect, and how we can better ourselves in terms of our IT infrastructure,” Mr. Gunadasa said.

Mr. Gunadasa was speaking at the ceremony to announce CILL’spartnership with the summit.

The main objective of thesummit is to create awareness on the importance of Cyber Security and to provide top officers in the government, top private sector leaders, IT professionals with the best practices in acquiring, implementing, managing and measuring information security postures of their organizations and countermeasures.

The summit will also highlight latest flaws in information security that affects the global community including the corporations and the governments. Discussions and presentations will revolve around some of the most malicious attacks and potential threats surrounding the security field.
